With a rich history dating back to 1942, Camp Puh’tok was founded to ensure that the transformative overnight summer camp experience was available to all Baltimore –area children, especially those that needed it most. Seventy five years later, our mission largely remains the same; to bring together youth and adults from diverse backgrounds and provide meaningful outdoor learning experiences that foster an appreciation for our natural environment, our history and one another. At Puh’tok our primary focus is on youth development. Our program activities and the support of our caring staff provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and environmental ethics. Specific objectives are to: teach positive decision making, teamwork, self-discipline, self-confidence, and problem solving; encourage an appreciation and understanding of our natural resources; develop leadership abilities; build character and responsible citizenship.
