The Patricia and Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric is operated by The Lyric Foundation, Inc. with a mission to operate a sustainable, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the performing arts by presenting multi-discipline performances and educational programming of the highest quality to diverse regional audiences. Our mission projects best efforts to advance the performing arts and to keep our historic venue viable. As the steward of our historic theater that opened in 1894 and named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, our goal is to nurture an extraordinary legacy and assure its presence for future generations. Administrative objectives are completing a new Strategic Plan, building continuing collaborations within the region and continuing to raise the curtain on average one of every four days. Organizational goals, based on a strong commitment for artistic excellence, public access, education and preservation of this historic theater, are enhancing community access through new educational initiatives and attracting a younger demographic.
